Gmail API Access

CarbonGuru uses the Gmail API to help you calculate the carbon footprint of your purchases by analyzing order confirmations, receipts, and invoices in your email.

What Gmail Data We Access

• Email messages identified as order confirmations, receipts, and invoices
• Email subject lines, sender information, and message body content
• We only access emails matching order/receipt patterns – not personal correspondence

What Data We Extract

• Product names and descriptions
• Purchase prices and currencies
• Merchant/retailer names
• Order dates

What Data We Store

• We DO store: Product information, prices, merchants, and calculated carbon footprints
• We DO NOT store: Full email content or personal correspondence
• Message IDs: We store Gmail message IDs only to prevent duplicate processing

How We Use Your Data

We use the extracted product information to calculate carbon footprints and provide environmental impact insights.

Data Sharing

We do not share your Gmail data with third parties.

Your Rights

You can revoke Gmail access at any time through your account settings or via Google Account Permissions.
